Brink is a first-person shooter developed by Splash Damage and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game was released in 2011 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. In Brink, players take on the role of a member of either the Resistance or the Security, two factions fighting for control of a floating city called The Ark. The game features a campaign mode, in which players can progress through a series of missions as either faction. One of the unique features of Brink is its SMART (Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain) system, which allows players to seamlessly navigate the game's environments using parkour-style movements. This adds a dynamic and fluid element to the gameplay, allowing players to easily traverse the game's environments and engage in fast-paced battles. The game also features a class-based system, allowing players to choose from several different classes such as soldier, engineer, and medic. Each class has its own unique abilities and weapons, allowing players to customize their playstyle to their preferences. In addition to its campaign mode, Brink also features a multiplayer mode, allowing players to compete against each other in various game modes such as team deathmatch and objective-based missions. Brink offers a unique and engaging first-person shooter experience, with its parkour-style movements and class-based system setting it apart from other games in the genre. Despite some criticisms at launch, the game has since gained a dedicated fanbase for its innovative gameplay mechanics.
