Tibia combines pixel art graphics, an oblique projection, and a top-down perspective in an open fantasy setting. The main gameplay mechanics entail defeating enemies to acquire riches and experience points for levelling up. Players start the game by selecting one of four distinct vocations, each of which uses a separate set of spells and skills. In addition to completing tasks to get rewards, users can also fight other players, create guilds, purchase and customise homes or guildhalls, go fishing, practise their abilities, or engage in role-playing with other players.
